1. Can the punch be equipped with a servo feeder?

Servo feeder is widely loved by stamping customers because of its simple operation, high feeding accuracy and low failure rate. But not all punches can be equipped with servo feeders, which requires an independent air source, and punches are equipped with cams (usually two groups, one group receives the release signal, and the other group receives the pickup signal. If the punch is used for punching, only need to pick up the signal), the punch speed cannot be too fast.

2. How does the servo feeder work?

The servo feeder punch press is linked by two sets of cam signals, a set of feeding signals and a set of relaxation signals.

When the slider of the punch runs to 9 o'clock, it will touch the cam to send a feeding signal. According to the set feed length, the servo feeder PLC receives the feed signal and outputs the signal to the servo driver, which then controls the servo motor to run. The degree of motor operation will be fed back to the servo driver by the encoder, and the two will cooperate to complete the transmission of the set feed length.

When the slider of the punch reaches the 6 o'clock position, it will touch the cam to send a release signal, and the feeder PLC receives the release signal. At this time, the PLC will output a signal source to control the solenoid valve, which controls the servo feeder to release the cylinder. The cylinder makes the servo feeding release mechanism raise the upper roller to release the material through the piston movement, thus realizing instant release.

This is the main operating principle of the servo feeder, and the whole process of feeding and stamping is completed by cyclic operation.

3. How to choose mechanical and pneumatic relaxation for servo feeder?

The difference between mechanical servo feeder and pneumatic servo feeder is the different way of relaxation. The mechanical servo adopts a mechanical rod to drive the relaxation (a relaxation rod needs to be installed on the slider of the punch). The relaxation speed is fast, the material is not crushed, the adjustment is convenient, and the relaxation is not disturbed by the outside world. When it is necessary to relax during mold test or material remolding, the material can be relaxed only by adjusting the relaxation screw and touching it, which is simple and convenient to operate. The pneumatic servo feeder uses the cylinder to pull the roller on the feeder to achieve relaxation. In this process, the punch cam needs to send a signal of interest to the solenoid valve, and the solenoid valve controls the action of the cylinder to relax the servo feeder. Therefore, the release speed of the pneumatic release device is slow, and it is easily affected by the external air source and electronic accessories, so that the pneumatic feeder cannot be used for high-speed feeding, and the operation adjustment is relatively complicated. When testing the mold or changing the material into the mold again, because this process needs to loosen the material many times, the pneumatic servo feeder needs to control the loosen material on the electric control box every time, and the adjustment is not as simple as mechanical.
